Do you know about the $150 NSW Family Energy Rebate? Applications are now open for the 2016 – 2017 Rebate and you can apply online.
The Family Energy Rebate helps NSW family households to pay their electricity bills. This year, the scheme gives eligible households with dependent children a partial ($15) or full ($150) credit on their electricity bill. To be eligible you need to be a NSW resident and were eligible and received the Federal Government’s Family Tax Benefit in the previous financial year and be an account holder of an electricity retailer.
Check eligibility on the website. It only takes two minutes to apply online with your Department of Human Services (DHS) customer reference number, contact details and your most recent electricity bill.
Your rebate will appear as a credit on your electricity bill once, for each financial year. When the credit appears on your electricity bill will depend on the billing cycle of your electricity retailer, after your application for the Family Energy Rebate has been approved.
You can also download a paper application form and submit it by email or post to NSW Resources and Energy. Applications must be received by 11pm, Thursday 15 June 2017.
