Be a Part of 2017 National Simultaneous Storytime

Get together with other readers across Australia for the 2017 National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 24 May.

This year National Simultaneous Storytime takes place on Wednesday 24 May at 11am (AEST) and will feature the book The Cow Tripped Over the Moon written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.

National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Now in its 17th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children’s book.

Everyone can join National Simultaneous Storytime – it doesn’t matter whether you are at home, a mums group or in a playgroup. There will be sessions at day cares, schools and also local libraries.

Newcastle Region Libraries will be hosting a special storytime on Wednesday 24 May 2017 at various branches. Suitable for kids aged 3 to 6, sessions are free but bookings are essential.

Lake Macquarie Library is holding sessions on Wednesday, 24 May 2017 at 11am at Morisset Library, Toronto Library, Speers Point Library and Swansea Library. Sessions are free but bookings are required.

Maitland City Library is hosting special National Simultaneous Storytime events at Maitland Library, East Maitland Library, Rutherford Library and Thornton Library on Wednesday, 24 May 2017 at 11am.
