Fire & Rescue NSW will be holding its annual Open Day on Saturday 19 May 2018 from 10am – 2pm.

There will be safety demonstrations, fire station tours and the chance to inspect firefighting equipment and trucks used by firefighters when responding to fires and other emergencies. There will also be a range of kids activities.

Visitors can also speak to firefighters first-hand about fire safety in the home, including how to install and maintain smoke alarms and how to develop a home escape plan to ensure they can quickly and safely escape a fire.

The following Newcastle & Hunter stations were open for 2017 and likely will be open this year as well:

Abermain, Bellbird, Belmont, Branxton Greta, Cardiff, Carrington, Cessnock, Charlestown, Dungog, East Maitland, Holmesville, Kearsley, Kurri Kurri, Lambton, Mayfield West, Maitland, Merewether, Minmi, Morisset, Morpeth, Newcastle,  Paxton, Raymond Terrace, Rutherford, Salamander Bay, Singleton, Stockton, Swansea, Tarro, Teralba, Tingira Heights, Toronto, Wallsend, Wangi Wangi, Weston.
